From the Sunnah

Spread greeting As-Salamu Alaikum (peace be upon you);
the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
“You will not enter Paradise until you believe and you will not believe
until you love each other. Should I not direct you to a thing which, if
you do, will foster love amongst you, spread greeting among your selves;
As-Salamu Alaikum.” [Reported by Muslim]

2- When feeling pain in your body:
“Place your hand at the place where you feel pain in your body and say
Bismillah (in the name of Allah) three times and seven times A'udhu

Allah and with His Power from the evil that I find and that I fear).”

“If someone of you saw something relate to his brother, or his own self
or his money, and he admired it, he should invoke blessing to it,
because envy is fact” [Reported by Ahmad and Ibn Majah and declared
authentic by Al-Albani]. This could be by saying invocations such as; O
Allah, bless it to him, or may Allah bless it for you.
«إذا رأى أحدكم من أخيه، أو من نفسه، أو من ماله ما يعجبه فليدع له بالبركة، فإن العين حق» مسند أحمد، وصححه الألباني

4- Performing the emphasized supererogatory prayers in the house:
The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
“You should pray in your houses, for the best prayer of a person is that
which he prays in his house except the compulsory prayers” [Reported by
Al-Bukhari].

And it is narrated on the authority of Zaid Ibn
Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (prayers and
peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The best of your prayers are which
you perform in your houses except the compulsory prayers” [Reported by
At-Tirmidhi and declared authentic by Al-Albani].
«أفضل صلاتكم في بيوتكم إلا المكتوبة» رواه الترمذي، وصححه الألباني

5- Performing Duha prayer, supererogatory fasts and Witr:
It is narrated that Abu Huraira said: “My dear companion recommended me
to do three (acts), and I would never abandon them (And these three
acts are): to observe three fasts during every month, not to abandon two
rakahs of Duha prayer and I should not sleep till I have observed Witr
prayer.” [Reported by Al-Bukhari]

6- Making the supererogatory two rakahs of dawn prayer light:
It is narrated that ‘Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “The
Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) used to lighten the two
rakahs which are before Dawn prayer so that I would say; ‘did he recite
the Mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Fatiha)?’” [Reported by Al-Bukhari]
«كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يخفف الركعتين اللتين قبل صلاة الصبح حتى إني لأقول هل قرأ بأم الكتاب» رواه البخاري

7- Using the Siwak before prayer:
The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
“Were I not afraid that it would be hard on my followers, or people, I
would have ordered them to use the Siwak (as obligatory, for cleaning
the teeth) at each prayer.” [Reported by Al-Bukhari]
«لولا أن أشق على أمتي، أو على الناس لأمرتهم بالسواك مع كل صلاة» رواه البخاري

8- Trimming the moustache:
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Omar (may Allah be pleased with
them) that the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
“Trim the moustache, and let the beard grow.” [Reported by Muslim]
«أحفوا الشوارب وأعفوا اللحى» رواه مسلم

9- Observing Witr prayer daily:
It is narrated that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The
Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) prayed Witr
then said: “O people of Qur’an, pray Witr (i.e. uneven prayer), because
Allah is Witr (i.e. Uneven) loves Witr [Reported by Abu Dawud and Ibn
Majah and declared authentic by Al-Albani]
«يا أهل القرآن أوتروا؛ فإن الله وتر يحب الوتر» رواه أبو داود وابن ماجه وصححه الألباني

10- Reciting Surat Al-Kafirun and Surat Al-Ikhlas: This is in the supererogatory prayer that is before Fajr prayer [Reported by Muslim and Abu Dawud],
«أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قرأ في ركعتي الفجر {قُلْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ} و {قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّـهُ أَحَدٌ}» رواه مسلم وأبو داود

and the supererogatory prayer that is after Maghreb prayer [Reported by An-Nasa’I and declared Hasan (good) by Al-Albani],
«رمقت رسول الله عشرين مرة ، يقرأ في الركعتين بعد المغرب ، وفي الركعتين قبل الفجر: {قُلْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ} و {قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّـهُ أَحَدٌ}» رواه النسائي وحسنه الألباني

11- Hastening the breaking of the fast:

the breaking of the fast.” [Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

12- To say at feeling solicitude and strait:
“O Allah! I seek refuge with You from having worries, sadness,
helplessness, laziness, miserliness, cowardice, from being heavily in
debt and from being overpowered by other persons unjustly.” [Reported by
Al-Bukhari]
«اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الهم والحزن، والعجز والكسل، والبخل والجبن، وضلع الدين وغلبة الرجال» رواه البخاري

Transliteration: Allahuma Ini ‘A’dhu Bika Minal Ham wal Hazan, WAl “ajzi Wal Kasal, Wal Bukhli Wal Jubn, WA Dil’I Ad-Day Wa Ghalabatil Rijal.

13- Seeking refuge for the kids from every evil:
The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) used to
seek Refuge with Allah for Al-Hassan and Al-Hussain: “I seek Refuge
(for you) with the Perfect Words of Allah, from every devil and vermin
and from every evil, harmful, envious eye.” [Reported by Al-Bukhari]
«أعوذ بكلمات الله التامة ، من كل شيطان وهامة ، ومن كل عين لامة» رواه البخاري

The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
“Do not pray unless there is Sutrah (i.e. barrier between the prayer and
the passers)” [Al-Albani said that its chain of transmission is good].
«لا تصل إلا إلى سترة ..» قال الألباني إسناده جيد

Sutrah at congregational prayer is for the Imam
and whoever prays alone; as for who is led in a prayer, the Sutrah of
his Imam is Sutrah for him.

15- At prostration:
Erecting the two feet and joining them to each other and making the
fingers in the direction of Qiblah. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with
her) said: “One night I missed the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace
of Allah be upon him) in his bed, so I looked for him and so my hands
touched his soles during his prayer in the Masjid and his feet are
erected …” [Reported by Muslim].
«فقدت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ليلة من الفراش، فالتمسته فوقعت يدي على بطن قدميه وهو في المسجد وهما منصوبتان..» رواه مسلم

Scholars deduced from this Hadeeth the permissibility of erecting the feet at prostration.

16- Not to leave food when it falls, as people are accustomed to do.
The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
“When any one of you drops food he should pick it up and remove any of
the filth on it, and then eat it, and should not leave it for Satan, and
should not wipe his hand with towel until he has licked his fingers,
for he does not know in what portion of the food the blessing lies”
[Reported by Muslim].
«إذا
وقعت لقمة أحدكم فليأخذها، فليمط ما كان بها من أذى وليأكلها ولا يدعها
للشيطان، ولا يمسح يده بالمنديل حتى يلعق أصابعه؛ فإنه لا يدري في أي طعامه
البركة»

As for what people say about having the food licked or partially eaten by the Satan at its fall; it has no origin.

Transliteration: Al Hamdu Lilah ‘Ala Kuli Hal.

As for some people’s saying: “All praise is due
to Allah Whom none is praised for misfortune but Him”, it is proof for
having little or imperfect patience, as it is mentioned by Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Uthaimin in his explanation to Riyadh As-Salihin Book Vol. 1.

18- To rest the animal when slaughtering it:
The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

you should do it perfectly, and when you slaughter you should do it
perfectly, and you should sharpen your knife and rest your sacrifice
(slaughtered animal)” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah,
and declared authentic by Al-Albani].

and death and affliction of Al-Maseih Ad-Dajjal (i.e. the Antichrist).”
[Reported by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah and declared authentic by
Al-Albani].
«إذا فرغ
أحدكم من التشهد الأخير فليتعوذ بالله من أربع من عذاب جهنم ومن عذاب
القبر ومن فتنة المحيا والممات ومن فتنة المسيح الدجال»
رواه أبو داود وابن ماجه وصححه لألباني

At-Tirmidhi and declared authentic by Al-Albani]

22- To say at hearing the crow of a rooster: “O Allah, I ask you from Your grace.”

Transliteration: Allahuma Ini ‘As’aluka Min Fadlik

The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of
Allah be upon him) said: “When you hear the (crowing of) roosters, ask
Allah from His grace, because they saw an angel …” [Reported by
At-Tirmidhi and declared authentic by Al-Albani]
«إذا سمعتم الديكة فأسألوا الله من فضله، فإنها رأت ملكاً ..» رواه الترمذي وصححه الألباني

23- To say at entering the market:
“There is no God except Allah Alone, with no associate. His is the
dominion, to Him is praise, and He gives life and death, while He is
ever alive and does not die, In His Hands lies every good, and He is
over everything omnipotent.” [Reported by Ibn Majah and declared good by
Al-Albani]
«لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له له الملك وله الحمد يحيي ويميت وهو حي لا يموت بيده الخير كله وهو على كل شيء قدير» رواه ابن ماجه وحسنه الألباني

«مُطرنا بفضل الله ورحمته» صححه الألباني

Transliteration: Muttirna Bi Fadli Lahi Wa Rahamatih

26- To say at the prostration of reciting the Holy Quran:
“My face fell in prostration before He who created it and brought forth
its faculties of hearing and seeing by His might and power. So Blessed
is Allah, the best of creators...” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi and declared
authentic by Al-Albani]
«سجد وجهي للذي خلقه وشق سمعه وبصره تبارك الله أحسن الخالقين» رواه الترمذي، وصححه الألباني

Transliteration: Sajada Wahi Lilathi Khalaqah, Wa Shaqa Sam’ahu Wa Basarah, Bihawlihi Wa Quwatih Fatabarak Allahu Ahsanul Khalqeen.

Transliteration: Subhan Al-Lathi Yusabih Ar-Ra’du Bi Hamdih Wal Mala’ikatu Min Khefatih.

(may Allah be pleased with him) used to leave the Hadeeth and say it
whenever he heard thunder [Muwatta Imam Malik. Al-Albani said that its
chain of transmission is authentic as untraceable]

28- To say before having sexual intercourse with the wife:
“In the name of Allah, O Allah, set Satan away from us and set him away
from whatever You have provided us.” [Reported by Abu Dawud and

with him) that the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him)

On the authority of Jabir Ibn ‘Abdullah he said: “The Prophet, prayers

Qur’an. He, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, would say ‘if any of
you intends to undertake a mater then let him pray two supererogatory
Rak’as of prayer and after which he should supplicate: ‘O Allah, I seek
Your counsel by Your knowledge and by Your power I seek strength and I
ask You from Your immense favour, for verily You are able while I am not
and verily You know while I do not and You are the Knower of the
unseen. O Allah, if You know this affair -and here he mentions his need-
to be good for me in relation to my religion, my life, and end, then
decree and facilitate it for me, and bless me with it, and if You know
this affair to be ill for me towards my religion, my life, and end, then
dismiss it from me and dismiss me from it, and decree for me what is
good wherever it be and make me satisfied with such.’” [Reported by
