Who goes to heaven?
Q: Who goes to heaven?
A: Praise be to Allaah.
We have been told by the Creator of Heaven of the qualities of those who
will go to Heaven. We read in Verse 40 of Surat Ghafir: "...and he that
works a righteous deed – Whether man or woman – And is a believer –
Such will enter the garden (of bliss): therein will they have abundance
without measure".
{وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحاً مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَى
وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُوْلَئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ يُرْزَقُونَ فِيهَا
بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ}
Transliteration: Wa Man `Amila Şāliĥāan Min Dhakarin 'Aw
'Unthá Wa Huwa Mu'uminun Fa'ūlā'ika Yadkhulūna Al-Jannata
Yurzaqūna Fīhā Bighayri Ĥisābin
We also read in Verses 13 and 14 of Surat al-Ahqaf: "Verily those who
say, "Our Lord is Allah", and remain firm (on that path), - On them
shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve (13) Such shall be companions of
the garden, dwelling therein (for aye): a recompense for their (good)
deeds. (14)".
{إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ
اسْتَقَامُوا فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ (13)
أُوْلَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا جَزَاء بِمَا كَانُوا
يَعْمَلُونَ}
Transliteration: 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Qālū Rabbunā Allāhu Thumma Astaqāmū
Falā Khawfun `Alayhim Wa Lā Hum Yaĥzanūna, 'Ūlā'ika 'Aşĥābu Al-Jannati
Khālidīna Fīhā Jazā'an Bimā Kānū Ya`malūna
And in Verse 60 of Surat Maryam, or Mary: "Except those who repent and
believe, and work righteousness: for those will enter the garden and
will not be wronged in the least. (60)".
{إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحاً فَأُوْلَئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْئاً}
Transliteration: 'Illā Man Tāba Wa 'Āmana Wa `Amila Şāliĥāan Fa'ūlā'ika Yadkhulūna Al-Jannata Wa Lā Yužlamūna Shay'āan
All those who submit to Allah, do what He asked and avoid what He proscribed will go to Heaven.
